New conversations have emerged around the late Nollywood actor as his final rites draw public attention, with unconfirmed claims about his wife’s pregnancy adding an emotional twist to the mourning period.

According to reports, the late Nollywood star Alex Ekubo and his spouse Anwuli Amakom Ekubo are expecting a kid.
It was alluded to in The Eze of Arochukwu, which is Alex's hometown in Abia State.
According to Kemi Filani, Alex's remains arrived in his hometown on Wednesday, June 17, for a wake-keep in preparation for his funeral today, June 18.
During the funeral procession, the convoy carrying his body stopped at the Eze of Arochukwu's palace, where the traditional ruler offered a prayer over the casket.
In his prayer, he asked that Alex's lineage continue, referencing the news of his wife's pregnancy and praying that the unborn child would go on to achieve even greater success than his late father.
As of the time of reporting, the pregnancy claim had not been independently confirmed by Alex's family, though the traditional ruler's words have generated considerable hope and excitement among Nigerians following the news.
Following Alex's Service of Songs, social media users identified his wife as Anwuli Amakom Ekubo, who serves as an Executive Director at NOG Oil and Gas Limited, a prominent energy transportation company in Nigeria.
During the service, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo offered prayers for her and commended her strength, drawing on his own experience of losing his wife six years ago to express empathy for her grief.
Paying tribute to Alex, his wife's sister revealed that the family had been particular about who their sister would marry, describing her as exceptional, and said she sensed Alex was the right match the moment he came forward to ask for her sister's hand in marriage.
The news of Alex's marriage first became public knowledge through Grace Makun, wife of fashion designer Yomi Casual, who revealed his marital status while mourning him.
Actress Uche Jombo later confirmed the marriage, sharing that she had visited the late actor's home and spent time with his wife, promising to support her going forward.
Reflecting on Alex's personal life, media personality Daddy Freeze spoke about the impact of the actor's broken engagement to American model Fancy Acholonu, suggesting that the breakup deeply affected him and that he struggled to fully recover from it.
The engagement, which became public in 2021, ended later that year, with Acholonu confirming the split publicly while Alex remained largely silent on the matter at the time.
