Speculation around Jorge Messi's health grew after Lionel was seen wiping away tears with his shirt following his goal in Argentina's match against Algeria at the World Cup.
Messi later explained that his emotional reaction stemmed from a personal matter unrelated to football, saying he had been going through a difficult period.
The Messi family confirmed that Jorge was currently under medical observation and asked for privacy, without disclosing details about the nature of his condition.
