Friends of retired broadcast journalist Kitan Oyesiku have called on the Ogun State Government, the state police command and relevant security agencies to intensify efforts to identify and prosecute those responsible for her m*rder.

Oyesiku, who was well known in media circles having served with a state-owned television station before her retirement, was k!lled alongside her security guard at her home in the Kobape area of Abeokuta.

Her body was found inside her apartment while that of the guard was discovered at the security post.

Her vehicle was also reported missing following the incident but was subsequently recovered by police operatives during a night operation.

The State Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, visited the scene on Monday to personally assess the situation and receive briefings from detectives handling the case, reiterating the command's resolve to leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

In a statement signed by Oluwaseun Boye on behalf of her friends, the deceased was described as a peace-loving and kind-hearted woman who did not deserve such a painful end.

The group urged that her case not be swept aside.

"Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done. Bringing the perpetrators to justice will reassure the public that no life is insignificant and that criminal acts of this nature will not go unpunished," the statement read.

The friends also renewed an appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist investigators, however insignificant it may seem, while commending the police for steps taken so far and urging them to sustain the momentum until all those connected to the cr!me are identified, arr£sted and prosecuted.
