A coordinated police operation in Ogun State has led to the rescue of a kidnapped victim following days of intelligence-led tracking.

Operatives of the Anti-K!dn@pping Unit of the Ogun State Police Command have rescued a k!dn@p victim and n£utralised two suspected abductors following a series of intelligence-led operations in the state.
According to a statement issued by police spokesperson DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi on Wednesday, the victim was @bducted on June 11, 2026, at Ogbe Village in the Obafemi-Owode local government area.
Upon receiving the report, the command activated its anti-k!dn@pping unit and deployed intelligence and tactical resources to secure the victim's release.
Through sustained surveillance and operational pressure on the criminal gang, the victim was eventually freed unharmed on June 18, 2026.
Follow-up operations subsequently led operatives to the gang's hideout, where the susp£cts opened fire in an attempt to resist arr£st.
Two members of the gang were n£utralised in the ensuing confrontation, while others fled the scene with gunshot injuries.
Items recovered during the operation included a single-barrel gun, one expended cartridge, a mobile phone and cash totalling ₦2.2 million, believed to be proceeds of cr!minal activity.
The Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, commended the Anti-K!dn@pping Unit for its professionalism and gallantry, reiterating the command's resolve to pursue k!dn@ppers and other violent cr!minals across the state.
He assured residents that Ogun State would remain hostile terrain for criminal elements through continued intelligence-led policing and community partnerships.
