Nigerian public affairs commentator Isaac Fayose has rewarded an Ekiti woman with ₦1 million after she turned down an alleged ₦15,000 vote-buying offer from the All Progressives Congress during the recent governorship election in the state.

Fayose announced the reward on social media after a video of the woman explaining her decision circulated online.

In the clip, the woman said she refused the money despite her financial difficulties, insisting that her vote and conscience were not for sale.

Commending her resolve, Fayose described the woman as a symbol of integrity and courage, saying her action proved that Nigerians could resist electoral inducement and contribute to strengthening democracy.

He said the cash reward was meant to encourage honesty and inspire others to reject vote buying regardless of the financial pressures they face.

Vote buying was flagged as one of the major concerns during the Ekiti governorship election, with domestic and international observer groups calling for stricter enforcement of electoral laws to deter such practices.
