A relaxing evening at a crowded seaside destination turned into chaos when part of a cliff unexpectedly gave way, triggering a major emergency response.

A woman has d!ed and another person remains missing after a cliff section collapsed at the French seaside resort of Biarritz on Wednesday evening, local authorities have confirmed.
The collapse occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. local time near Miramar Beach, where large numbers of people had gathered amid an intense heatwave.
Three divers were at the base of the cliff when the landslide struck.
Emergency responders recovered the woman's body shortly before 11:00 p.m., while the second diver remained unaccounted for.
Search operations were suspended before midnight and were expected to resume Thursday morning.
The third diver escaped physical injury but required treatment for shock from emergency services.
Residents noted that the section of cliff that gave way located beneath the town's lighthouse was only accessible from the sea.
A local association tasked with monitoring the cliff disclosed that similar collapses had previously occurred in 2008 and 2018, fuelling concerns about the long-term structural stability of the area.
