Nollywood actress Ini Dima-Okojie has announced the birth of her first child with her husband, Abasi Ene-Obong, marking the milestone on the same day she turned 36.

The Blood Sisters star shared the news on social media on Wednesday, revealing that the couple had welcomed a baby boy.

She accompanied the announcement with photographs taken shortly after the delivery, showing her cradling her newborn son in a hospital bed.

Reflecting on her journey into motherhood, Dima-Okojie described it as the most humbling and transformative role she has ever taken on, saying the weeks since his arrival had been at once beautiful, overwhelming, exhausting, and deeply rewarding.

She described getting to know her son whom she fondly noted had the sweetest dimples as the greatest gift of her life, adding that caring for him had uncovered strengths she never knew she possessed and deepened her appreciation for mothers everywhere.

Ini married Dr Abasi Ene-Obong, founder and former Chief Executive of genomics company 54gene, in 2022.

The arrival of their son carries particular significance given the actress's well-documented health journey.

She was diagnosed with fibroids in 2017 and underwent successful surgery in November 2020 after initially exploring alternative approaches.

In July 2024, she disclosed that the condition had returned, though a follow-up scan three months later showed the fibroids were shrinking following lifestyle adjustments.

She had previously described her pregnancy as a miracle.

Fellow celebrities including Nancy Isime, Chioma Ikokwu, Kehinde Bankole, and Osas Ighodaro were among those who congratulated the couple following the announcement.
