A political campaign walk turned into chaos after a heavy-duty vehicle lost control and rammed into supporters on the street.

One person has d!ed and several others sustained serious injuries after a trailer ploughed into supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a "Walk for Ambo Victory" campaign event in Oke Gada, Ede, Osun State.
The deceased, identified only as Ahmed, lost his life during the programme.
The incident was announced by the Head of Media and Publicity for the Bola Oyebamiji "Ambo for 2026" Governorship Campaign in Ila/Ifedayo/Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, Olufunsho Fagbohungbe, who said the trailer driver claimed to have lost control of the vehicle due to brake failure before it ran into the crowd of APC supporters participating in the walk.
Several injured persons were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while sympathisers and emergency responders moved swiftly to assist victims at the scene.
The Director of Media and Information of the APC in Osun State, Kola Olabisi, confirmed the incident and disclosed that the party had dispatched a team to determine the actual cause of the acc!dent.
He said the team's findings would inform a more detailed statement from the party on the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
