A late-night security operation has led to the rescue of several kidnap victims after armed men struck along a major highway.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued three k!dn@p victims and launched a search operation for two others still in the hands of suspected k!dn@ppers along the Jos–Zaria Road in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The development was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert covering the Lake Chad region.
According to the report, the incident occurred at approximately 9:05 p.m. on June 24, 2026, around the Mista Ali area, after security personnel received a distress report of suspected k!dn@pping activities along the highway.
Operatives responded immediately, forcing the suspected abductors to flee the scene.
The three rescued victims were identified as Osuji Franklin, Danjuma Moses, and Irimiya Shehu, all of whom sustained varying degrees of injuries during the incident.
They were subsequently evacuated to the General Hospital in Mista Ali, where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
Preliminary findings indicated that the suspected k!dn@ppers had already taken away two other victims, identified as Dayo and Henry Owen, before security personnel arrived at the scene.
Operatives also recovered an abandoned Opel Zafira vehicle with registration number RYM 25 A2 at the location.
Security forces have since intensified efforts to track down the fleeing suspects and rescue the two remaining victims.
