The Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has sympathised with the Correspondent Chapel of the Kogi State Council of the Nigerian Union of Journalists whose members were involved in an accident on Saturday.
It was reported that the Correspondent Chapel was returning from Ekinrin-Adde, where they had gone for an official assignment, when a reckless truck driver hit the chapel bus, leaving some of the journalists with varying degrees of injuries.

The statement noted that on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, PSC, mni, and all officers and men of the Command, heartfelt prayers and solidarity were extended to the injured journalists, their families, and the entire media community in the state.
It added that the Command recognises and appreciates the sacrifices journalists make in the line of duty in keeping the public informed, joining the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State Council, and the people of the state in praying for the speedy and full recovery of all affected.
The statement further assured the media fraternity of the Command's continued commitment to the safety and protection of all journalists as they carry out their constitutionally guaranteed duties.
