Nigerian Doctor Dies After Ukraine Air Attack

A young Nigerian medical graduate has lost her life amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, prompting condolences from the Federal Government.

The Federal Government has expressed sadness over the d£ath of a Nigerian medical doctor in Ukraine, Miss Nnani Adaobi Marian.

The 23-year-old Nigerian medical graduate of Kharkiv National Medical University reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained during a Russian aerial att@ck in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

In a statement by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, the Federal Government reiterated the country's deep concern over the continuing loss of civilian lives arising from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

The Russian government, however, has absolved itself of any complicity in the medical student's d£ath.

Nigeria urged all parties involved to embrace dialogue, diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes in accordance with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The ministry said it had received, with profound sadness, news of the d£ath of Miss Nnani Adaobi Marian, a 23-year-old Nigerian medical graduate of Kharkiv National Medical University, who reportedly succumbed to injuries sustained during a Russian aerial att@ck in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

The Federal Government extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues and the Nigerian community affected by the tragic loss, praying that Almighty God grants the dece@sed eternal rest and gives her family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

It said the ministry remained in contact with relevant authorities as well as Nigeria's missions in Ukraine and Germany to verify the circumstances surrounding the incident and to provide the necessary consular assistance to the family.

The Federal Government reiterated its deep concern over the continuing loss of civilian lives arising from the ongoing conflict and renewed its call for an immediate cessation of hostilities, urging all parties to embrace dialogue, diplomacy and the peaceful resolution of disputes in line with international law and the principles of the United Nations Charter.

It added that Nigeria remains committed to the protection and welfare of its citizens abroad and will continue to monitor developments closely while providing all necessary support through its diplomatic missions.
