A small act of kindness has turned into a viral conversation after a woman revealed what happened after she offered financial support to someone in need.

A lady has sparked conversations on social media after expressing disappointment over the response she received from someone she assisted financially, saying the experience left her feeling that many people no longer appreciate simple acts of kindness.
According to the woman, the person had contacted her the previous night to request ₦3,000. She said she immediately agreed to help and asked the individual to send a bank account number for the transfer.
The lady explained that after receiving the account details, the borrower asked for an amount higher than the original sum, but she said she politely declined, citing her own financial responsibilities, while still going ahead to fulfil the initial request.
Recounting what happened after sending the money, she said people are ungrateful, recalling that someone had asked her for 3,000 naira the previous night, which she agreed to send immediately.
She said that after she received the account details and asked to send the money, the person hinted that she could add a little more, but she explained that she wasn't financially buoyant at the time due to personal and family responsibilities, though she could still manage the 3,000 naira.
She said after sending the money, the girl simply replied that she had seen it, and nothing more.
She added that she wasn't expecting to be worshipped over 3,000 naira, but that the experience made her realise that some people simply don't appreciate even the bare minimum.
The post has since attracted reactions from social media users, with many agreeing that expressing gratitude shouldn't depend on the amount received.
Others argued that a simple "thank you" is a basic show of appreciation, especially when someone extends help despite their own financial constraints.
The discussion has also reignited broader conversations around gratitude, entitlement and the expectations that often accompany financial assistance among friends and acquaintances.
