A Nigerian lady, Eniola, has moved the hearts of many after sharing how a road accident she suffered while returning from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) orientation camp left her with a spinal cord injury that changed her life forever.

Her story, recounted in an emotional video shared by a close friend on social media, has since gone viral.

Accident Changed Her Life

Speaking in the video, Eniola explained that the accident occurred in 2021 while she was travelling home after leaving the NYSC orientation camp due to illness.

"In 2021, I had an accident when I was coming back from NYSC camp.

I was supposed to go to Akwa Ibom State and I got sick after like two weeks in camp, so they asked me to go home.

On my way back, I had an accident and I was the only survivor. The accident affected my spinal cord and since then, I've been like this," she said.

"I Can't Walk or Feel My Body"

Eniola disclosed that she lost all sensation from below her chest following the accident and has since been unable to walk.

"I can't move my legs. I can't walk. It's going to be five years by December. I lost sensation from below my breast downward. I can't feel my body at all.

I've also been battling bedsores," she said.

She further alleged that she had been defrauded by individuals who falsely claimed they could treat spinal cord injuries.

"Over the years, I've seen so many doctors, quarks and a lot of doctors have even scammed me.

Some of them that don't even know anything about spinal cord, they lie. Eventually, they cut one of my toes and since then, my leg would just be doing like electric shock."

She Disclosed Attempts to End Her Life

The young lady admitted that the emotional and physical toll of her condition became overwhelming at times, leading her to attempt suicide on three separate occasions.

"Yes. I even tried. I've tried it like three times. It didn't work. I tried to drink Savlon because I felt like, wow, I can't go out. I can't even turn on the bed. I can't sit for long," she said.

"I'm Grateful to Be Alive"

Eniola also revealed that she was the sole survivor of the crash. "I'm grateful.

I'm really grateful honestly because that's like a second chance for me and I know things will get better for me," she stated.

Appeals for Support

Appealing to members of the public, Eniola urged Nigerians to offer financial support to help her recover and walk again.

"This is me begging for help. I need people to support me and donate towards my treatment. I really want to get better. I believe I'm going to walk again.

I believe God will make it happen. Please help in any way you can. If I can walk again, that would be a dream come true.

I'll be so happy. I'll be grateful to God and to Nigerians. I'll be grateful to everyone who helped me. I don't even mind walking slowly. I just want to walk."
