The Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has stood in the defence of President Muhammadu's Buhari's pace of governance.
According to him, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) wants to rush President Muhammadu Buhari into the traps and landmines left behind by the former administration.
Sani, who spoke on Monday, June 29, following PDP’s criticism of Buhari on appointments, said the President’s pace was calculated.
The senator noted that the former ruling government had destroyed Nigeria and its economy as well as impoverished the citizens in the last 16 years.
The senator said: “President Muhammadu Buhari’s pace is not deliberate, but a calculated and deliberate act to ensure that the steps he takes are in the best interest of Nigeria and in the best interest of our people.
“The Jonathan administration had laid a lot of landmines, snares and traps. You can’t rush President Buhari into such landmines, snares and traps. His critics want him to fall into such traps.
“Those who are criticising Mr. President are the agents of the past. But, despite the challenges of APC, Nigeria cannot go back to the PDP. PDP represent evil and we are paying the price of allowing the PDP to rule Nigeria for 16 years.
