Nigerian Afrobeats star, Damini Ogulu, known professionally as Burna Boy, has made history as the first African artiste to top the Billboard Global 200 Songs chart.

The Grammy-winning singer achieved the feat after his collaborative World Cup song with Shakira, "Dai Dai," peaked at number one on the chart this week.

The song currently sits atop both the Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global 200 Excl. U.S. chart, and also climbed 12 places this week to reach a new peak of 55 on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

Meanwhile, another Nigerian artiste, Tems, saw her song "What You Need" move up five places to a new peak of 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 after 15 weeks on the chart.

The song recently reached number one on both the Billboard Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart and the Mediabase Urban radio airplay chart, making Tems the first solo African artiste to achieve those milestones.
