Tributes have poured in for a "bright lad" who tragically passed away following a "catastrophic" house fire believed to have been sparked by an e-bike.
Joey Gregory, 19, d!ed in hospital on Thursday last week nine days after sustaining injuries in the blaze on Redcar Road, Blackpool.
A 13-year-old boy, Coby Keogh, was also injured in the fire and left in a serious condition in hospital.
Tragically, young Coby also passed away on July 5, with his family launching an appeal to raise funds for his funeral.
Joey had been pulled from the flames and rushed to the burns intensive care unit at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester, where he was placed in a medically induced coma, with his mother urging him to "keep fighting."
Speaking in the wake of his passing, Joey's mum, Sally Gregory, paid tribute to her son, telling a local newspaper: "We are absolutely devastated, it has been a hell of a nine days.
But we had a chance to say goodbye to him and that means everything. Not everyone gets the chance to do that and we are not angry, we are surrounded by love.
He was hilarious, witty, articulate and a very bright lad, he was funny and daft."
Police and fire services are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire, which they believe was started by an e-bike.
Blackpool Police stated that, at this stage, there is believed to be no third-party involvement in the tragedy.
In a statement, Blackpool Police said: "Following a report of a fire within a property on Redcar Road, a 19-year-old man has sadly died.
Our thoughts remain with his family and loved ones at this devastating time.
The man's family are being supported by specially trained officers, and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing between police and the fire and rescue service and there is no third-party involvement.
At this time, we believe the fire was started by an e-bike."
