Morgan Rogers has been signed by Chelsea from Aston Villa for a record £117 million transfer fee.
The Blues, who defeated London rivals Arsenal to get the attacker, agreed a long-term contract with the England international, who participated in the 2026 World Cup.
Morgan Rogers, an England international, has joined Chelsea from Aston Villa, the club announced via its official channels tonight.
"The 23-year-old forward will join Xabi Alonso's team prior to the 2026–2027 season after signing a contract with Stamford Bridge through 2033."
Rogers returned from the United States yesterday to undergo a medical in London and sign a six-year contract with an option for a further year.
He said he was excited about the move, describing Chelsea as the biggest club in London and one he had admired since childhood.
He added that he was looking forward to the project under the new manager, expressing confidence in the squad and the club's overall direction, and said he could not wait to get started.
Chelsea praised Rogers as they profiled their new acquisition, describing him as having established himself as one of the Premier League's leading young attacking talents.
The club noted that during his time at Aston Villa, his goal contributions amounted to 40 goals in 85 Premier League appearances, helping the Midlands club secure a top-four finish before going on to win the UEFA Europa League title last season.
The club also highlighted that since making his senior England debut in November 2024, Rogers has become a regular fixture for the Three Lions, earning 22 caps and representing his country at this summer's FIFA World Cup, before welcoming him to Chelsea.
