After concerns over the health of Nollywood icon Ngozi Nwosu sparked public attention, a major intervention has now emerged.

Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has authorized the payment of N25 million to help legendary actress Ngozi Nwosu with her medical care.
According to Dr. Justice Okey Martins, also known as JMartins, the Governor's Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment.
The payment was made to the hospital where the actress is being treated on Wednesday.

A media aide, JMartins, has disclosed that Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has released N25 million to support the medical treatment of veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu.
JMartins disclosed this in a post on social media on Thursday, saying that before the close of work the previous day, the governor made good his promise by directing the payment to the account of the hospital where the actress is currently receiving treatment.
The aide commended the governor for honouring his commitment to the actress, expressing gratitude for his support and kindness of heart, and adding that history would be kind to him.
JMartins had earlier announced on Tuesday that the governor had approved the first tranche of medical support for Nwosu following reports of her health condition.
Nwosu, a screen veteran, has featured in several Nollywood films and TV productions and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the industry.
