A content creator has opened up about losing her banking job after her workplace raised concerns over videos shared online.

Becca Oluwabukola, a content producer, has described how her usage of social media allegedly contributed to her job loss at a bank after she was forced to leave for films she put on TikTok.
The content creator, who revealed her experience in a TikTok video on Thursday, claimed she was forced to resign after the bank accused her of revealing a "sensitive area" in one of her office vlogs.
Becca did not disclose the name of the bank involved or her specific role within the organisation.
She is, however, widely known on TikTok for creating lifestyle content centred on her daily 9-to-5 work routine.
Recounting how her content creation journey intersected with her banking career, Becca said she began producing videos in 2018 and often arrived at work early to record, since she lacked a suitable space at home at the time.
She explained that in July 2022, she used a sound referencing a salary increment she considered outrageously low, clarifying that it wasn't meant to mock her bank, but that her branch manager later informed her the head office had called and she was subsequently queried over it.
According to her, the bank cited its social media policy in disciplining her over the video, stating that her actions went against its social media usage guidelines.
She said she was away from work for a while before being reinstated, and that despite the incident, she still received a consistent salary increment and was eventually converted to permanent staff.
Becca explained that even after returning to work, concerns over her TikTok activities persisted until this year.
She said that by 2026, she began receiving several warnings over videos she posted, including one vlog that led to another summon for filming her office area, prompting her to take the video down.
About a week later, she said she received another query accusing her of inappropriate exposure of a sensitive area of the bank.
She further disclosed that she was invited before a disciplinary committee, where she apologised for the incident, only to later receive a call from her boss informing her that she had been asked to resign with immediate effect.
She said she complied as instructed, admitting that she cried over the outcome.
While Becca is not the only banker who has filmed bank premises, including sensitive areas, checks show that social media is saturated with similar videos from bank employees, with some official bank handles even sharing such content.
A review of Central Bank of Nigeria regulations on confidentiality found that under the CBN's Bill of Rights and Duties, banks generally do not permit employees to publicly display sensitive or restricted areas of the bank on social media without authorisation.
The regulations require banks to safeguard confidential information, customer data and secure operations, prohibiting actions such as filming cash vaults or strong rooms, showing CCTV control rooms or security arrangements.
Recording restricted back-office operations, displaying customers' personal or financial information, revealing internal systems, passwords, terminals or confidential documents, and publishing internal procedures that could compromise security, among others.
