Nnadozie Takes Blame for Super Falcons Shock Defeat, Sends Message to Nigerians

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has accepted responsibility following Nigeria's disappointing start to the 2026 WAFCON.

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has acknowledged responsibility for Nigeria's upset defeat to Malawi in the opening match of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), stating that the team is motivated to comeback.

Nnadozie admitted that errors were committed during the game, but he is certain that the reigning champions have the quality and character to rebound positively in their remaining group matches.

The Brighton goalkeeper apologised to Nigerians over the disappointing result and thanked fans for their continued support despite the setback.

She urged supporters to keep believing in the team, stressing that the players remain united and fully focused on getting their title defence back on track.

Nigeria's unexpected loss has increased the pressure ahead of their next group fixture, but Nnadozie remains optimistic that the Super Falcons can still progress deep into the tournament.

Team officials and players have also called for calm, maintaining that the competition is far from over and that the Falcons are capable of bouncing back strongly.
