The Yobe SEMA Search and Rescue Team, working in collaboration with the State Fire Service in Damaturu, responded to the incident.
The report noted that upon arrival at the scene, the victims were confirmed dead, and their bodies were taken to the mortuary at the General Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital, Damaturu.
Following the incident, the State Emergency Management Agency has urged members of the public, particularly parents and guardians, to closely supervise children given that schools are currently on vacation.
The agency also outlined six precautionary measures, including avoiding flooded roads and waterways, keeping children away from rivers and culverts, and reporting emergencies to SEMA.
