A veteran actor has made an emotional appeal on behalf of his colleague who has been battling a major health challenge.

Veteran actor Harry B. Anya is asking for help for Maureen Okpoko, his blind coworker.
In an internet video, the actor was shown with Maureen, making an impassioned plea to their peers in the profession.
He appealed to fellow actors and actresses to rally behind Maureen, who lost her sight some years ago, explaining that with the right treatment, she could regain her vision, and all she needed was their support.
In 2023, Maureen had cried out for help after losing her sight. In a video shared on social media, she appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance, revealing that the journey had not been easy for her.
Nollywood veteran Ngozi Nwosu also disclosed that she needed to undergo three surgeries costing about ₦30 million.
Help eventually came her way when the Abia State Governor supported her with ₦25 million.
"My fellow Nollywood actors and actresses, let's support our colleague, Actress Maureen Okpoko, who lost her sight years ago. She can see again with the right treatment; all she needs is our support."
