The Kano State Government has announced major changes within its civil service structure, involving new appointments and redeployments.

The Kano State Government has authorized the redeployment of 14 current permanent secretaries to various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the state civil service, as well as the appointment of 19 new permanent secretaries.
This was revealed on Tuesday in Kano by the state's Head of Civil Service, Hajiya Bilkisu Shehu-Maimota, in a statement that was signed by Rukayya Uba-Sulaiman, Director of Public Enlightenment, Office of the Head of Civil Service.
According to Uba-Sulaiman, the appointments represent a call to greater responsibility and selfless service to the people of the state.
The statement conveyed the approval of Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, for the appointment and deployment of Permanent Secretaries within the state civil service.
It explained that the postings follow the recent elevation of some deserving Directors to the rank of Permanent Secretary, a move aimed at strengthening the machinery of government for more effective and efficient service delivery.
The statement expressed hope that the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries would discharge their duties diligently and competently in furtherance of the administration's goals.
It further noted that the postings take immediate effect, with all handing and taking over expected to be concluded on or before Wednesday, 12 August, 2026.
