Nigerian singer Flavour has opened up about a difficult period from his past, sharing a personal experience that tested his discipline and affected his daily life.

Flavour, a Nigerian artist, has spoken out about a time in his life when he struggled with a masturbation addiction, describing the experience during a live session with pals.
According to the singer, the habit began when he lost his virginity and eventually lost contact with the woman involved. With no sexual partner at the time, he admitted to turning to masturbation, which developed an addiction after a buddy introduced him to Mapouka dance films from Congo.
Flavour claimed that the addiction lasted roughly two years and had become so serious that he felt ashamed and found it impossible to interact regularly with friends, even during routine activities like as watching football.
He further admitted that he "even used liquid soap" when fighting with the addiction.
The artist stated that he first sought assistance from his mother's pastor, whom he characterized as a Guidance and Counselling specialist. According to him, the pastor advised a "21-day fast" with prayer points, but his addiction reappeared just days later.
Flavour stated that he later confided in a bassist with whom he performed music, who believed the problem was related to his youth and lack of frequent sexual activity. The bassist allegedly took him to a brothel and paid for him to have sex with a lady there.
According to the artist, he then began spending the money he earned from playing musical instruments on weekly trips to brothels, which he claims helped him overcome his addiction.
