Zamfara State's anti-substance abuse and human trafficking agency has launched a formal partnership initiative with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency to combat drug trafficking and trafficking in persons across the state.

The move was marked by a familiarisation visit led by Dr. Habibu Yalwa, Executive Secretary of the Zamfara agency, to the NDLEA's state command.

The delegation aimed to solidify cooperation between the two bodies and establish mechanisms for improved coordination in tackling these challenges.

The NDLEA's Zamfara State Commander, Kabiru Muhammad, received the team and stressed the necessity of collaborative effort across government agencies, noting that neither body can address substance abuse, illicit drug trafficking, and human trafficking in isolation.

He underscored that effective action depends on inter-agency partnership, shared intelligence, and coordinated operational response.

Dr. Yalwa outlined the visit's objectives as reinforcing the existing collaboration, facilitating intelligence exchange, aligning public awareness initiatives, and establishing coordinated operational strategies to address substance abuse, drug trafficking, and human trafficking across the state.
