Nigeria will contest Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations following their placement as Group C runners-up after Wednesday's final group matches.

The Nigerian team concluded their group stage campaign with a comprehensive 6-2 victory over Egypt, accumulating six points alongside Malawi and Zambia.

However, CAF's competition regulations specified that only results from matches among Nigeria, Malawi and Zambia would determine the group's final standings through head-to-head comparison, resulting in Malawi's advancement as group winners and Zambia's elimination.

The quarter-final pairing was established through CAF's fixed knockout bracket structure, which pits Group C's runner-up against Group D's winner.

Cameroon secured the top position in Group D following a 2-1 victory over Mali and a 1-0 triumph against Ghana.

Ghana advanced as the group's second-place finisher after their decisive head-to-head defeat to Cameroon.

Mali's final group placement will be determined by their remaining fixture against Ghana on Thursday.
