A tragic road crash along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway has claimed multiple lives after an SUV lost control and struck people near the roadside.

Seven individuals have d£@d in a traffic collision on the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway involving three motor vehicles and five commercial motorcycles in Umuika, Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the driver of a black sport utility vehicle travelling toward Aba from the Umuahia-Aba-Port Harcourt section of the expressway lost control, veered off the roadway and struck commercial motorcycle operators and roadside female traders.
The collision's impact was mitigated by trees positioned in front of an adjacent shop, which prevented the vehicle from ramming into patrons gathered outside the establishment.
Witnesses attributed the incident to excessive speed or brake malfunction.
The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed the occurrence, noting that five persons comprising one male and four females had been confirmed d£@d as of the time of the initial report.
The injured were transported to Ngozi Hospital and Maternity in Owerrinta, whilst the d£ceased were conveyed to Mighty More mortuary.
The whereabouts of the driver remain unknown.
