Self-declared Prime Minister of a group calling itself the Biafra Republic Government in Exile, Simon Ekpa, has voiced confidence that his sentencing by a court in Finland would ultimately be overturned.

The secessionist figure was sentenced to six years imprisonment on September 1, 2025, by a Finnish district court following his conviction on t£rrorism-related charges connecting him to k!llings in southeastern Nigeria.

Addressing supporters during appeal hearing proceedings on Thursday, Ekpa maintained that the wrong individual is being held in custody, asserting that the truth would eventually emerge.

He stated, "I'm very confident that the truth is going to come out.

They will know that the wrong person has been imprisoned."
