Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan has sparked heated reactions online after sharing her views on relationships, financial responsibility, and loyalty between partners.

Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan has offered relationship advice to women, contending that infidelity toward a partner who fails to financially contribute to their wellbeing could be viewed as a form of self-protection.
In a video circulating on social media, she asserted that men bear responsibility for caring for their partners, encouraging women in such situations to act according to their own judgment.
She characterised unfaithfulness toward an unsupportive partner as justified self-defense, arguing that men who fail to fulfil their obligations should expect such consequences, and urged women facing these circumstances to proceed as they see fit when justified by legitimate reasons.
Addressing potential criticism that she might be encouraging infidelity, she maintained that she was merely expressing personal opinion rather than compelling anyone to follow her guidance.
She acknowledged that individual circumstances vary considerably and cautioned that any decision carries its own consequences.
She further stated that while she anticipated both agreement and disagreement with her position, she emphasised that any resulting risk belonged to the individual making the choice, noting that everyone's situation differs.
The controversial remarks have since generated divided reactions among social media users, with some agreeing that financial responsibility remains essential within relationships, while others criticised her for appearing to justify infidelity.
