A police operation in Mushin has uncovered a suspected cult network, leading to multiple arrests and the recovery of a firearm.

Lagos State Police Command has apprehended four suspected members of the Aiye Confraternity and recovered a locally manufactured Beretta pistol along with a live 9mm round during an operation in the Mushin area.
The arrests were executed by operatives of the Command's Violent Crime Response Unit following intelligence regarding suspected cult group activities in the locality.
According to a statement released on Monday by Command spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi, the operation commenced with the arrest of Irawo Moshod, who allegedly disclosed his former role as chairman of the Aiye Confraternity.
Information provided by Moshod guided investigators to other suspected group members and led to the firearm recovery.
Police alleged that Moshod made further disclosures regarding the group's operations, including his purported participation in multiple k!llings across Mushin and other parts of Lagos State.
Acting on investigative findings, VCRU operatives proceeded to Idi-Oro, Mushin, where they recovered the locally made Beretta pistol and ammunition.
Three additional suspected members were subsequently arrested at Aganran by Ojuwoye: 29-year-old Abayomi James, 28-year-old Farouq Bankole and 19-year-old Steven Sunday.
The three suspects admitted to Aiye Confraternity membership and identified an individual named Rilwan as the group's paramount leader, claiming he had supplied the recovered weapon.
All four suspects remain in police custody and are cooperating with ongoing investigations.
Police are pursuing efforts to locate other alleged group members.
Lagos State Police Commissioner CP Tijani Fatai commended the VCRU operatives for their proactive and intelligence-led approach to cult-related criminal activity, reaffirming the Command's commitment to dismantling criminal networks and bolstering state security.
Fatai warned cult organisations and other criminal actors to cease operations or face legal prosecution.
The Command appealed to residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities promptly to facilitate rapid police response.
