A domestic disagreement in Abia State has ended in tragedy, leaving a newly married couple at the centre of a police investigation.

A woman identified as Mrs Sarah Innocent has been arrested in connection with the d£ath of her husband following an altercation in Ohuru Ishimiri village, Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.
The incident occurred on Saturday night. The couple had been married since December 2025, approximately eight months prior to the tragic event, according to family members of the deceased.
Law enforcement authorities confirmed the incident on Monday evening.
Police reported that notification of the crime reached Ohuru Ishimiri Police Divisional Headquarters on August 9, 2026.
According to police spokesperson DSP Maureen Chinaka, the report indicated that Mrs Sarah Innocent allegedly stabbed her husband in the chest using a kitchen knife during a domestic disagreement.
The victim was transported to a medical facility where he was pronounced d£ad by a physician.
Police confirmed that the crime scene was examined, the body transferred to a morgue for autopsy, and the suspect placed in custody.
Investigators from the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) are conducting a detailed inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
