Nigerian influencer Peller has sparked a fresh conversation about marriage and money after revealing what happens to cash gifts received during his wedding.

Twenty-one-year-old influencer Peller has generated discussion following his disclosure during a livestream that wedding funds gifted to him are transferred directly to his wife.
Peller explained that despite public perception that the money belongs to him, he gives all collected amounts to his wife because he views their marriage as a unified partnership.
During the broadcast conversation, a caller suggested that spousal income becomes shared property in marriage.
Peller disagreed with this characterisation, asserting that the money does not constitute his personal property.
He elaborated on his marital philosophy, stating that he perceives himself and his wife as a single entity, whilst acknowledging that she apparently maintains a different perspective on their relationship structure.
He emphasised that in the Nigerian context, the wedding funds represent his wife's assets rather than joint or personal holdings.
His response highlighted a distinction between his unified approach to marriage and his wife's apparent compartmentalisation of finances and identities within their union.
