A disturbing family incident in Adamawa has led to the arrest of a 20-year-old man after police accused him of attacking his mother.

A 20-year-old man has been apprehended by the Adamawa State Police Command on allegations of att@cking his mother.
John Mahmud, resident of Konan Kuka in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area, was arrested following a report that he engaged in violent conduct toward his mother at their residence.
The police command's spokesperson indicated that preliminary investigations confirmed that Mahmud had perpetrated violence against his biological mother.
The Commissioner of Police has authorised comprehensive investigation of the matter, with charges to be filed in court upon completion of the investigative process.
The command expressed strong condemnation of all manifestations of domestic violence, reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding vulnerable populations, particularly women and elderly persons.
The spokesperson urged members of the public to report instances of abuse to the nearest police station to facilitate preventive intervention.
