Bishop Thomas Aremu has counselled husbands to allocate financial resources toward their wives and ensure adequate provision for their needs, emphasising that women value monetary expressions of care from spouses.

During remarks at a conference, the cleric encouraged men with financial capacity to provide funds and meet their wives' requirements, particularly given women's childcare responsibilities.

Aremu articulated that women hold financial gestures in high regard and that husbands should prioritise spending on them when resources allow.

He referenced his personal approach to spousal requests, indicating that he provides financial support even when initially hesitant about specific requests.

He explained that his willingness stems from two considerations: his desire to maintain domestic tranquility and his recognition that his wife deserves dedicated provision distinct from general societal obligations.

The bishop further advised husbands against dismissing wives' desires for items perceived as unnecessary, citing acquisition of jewellery as an example.

He argued that material acquisitions do not compromise spiritual commitment, referencing scriptural imagery of celestial streets composed of gold to illustrate that material goods do not diminish godliness or moral standing.

His overarching message emphasised spousal financial security and attentiveness to wives' material wellbeing as expressions of marital commitment.
