Davido has thrown down a massive challenge to his fellow Nigerian music heavyweights, backing his hit-making reputation with an eye-catching $1 million wager.

Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has asserted his dominance within the Nigerian music landscape, declaring that no contemporary artist commands more commercially successful recordings than himself.
During a recent online broadcast interaction, he proposed wagering one million United States dollars on a competitive hit song contest against any rival willing to accept the challenge.
Davido, recognised as one of the music industry's most prolific hit producers, positioned himself alongside contemporaries including Wizkid, Olamide, Burna Boy, Tekno and Runtown.
No artist has publicly responded to or accepted his wager proposition as of the time of reporting.
The challenge echoes a comparable declaration made by Burna Boy during the COVID-19 confinement period in 2020.
At that time, former Mavin Records artist Reekado Banks represented the sole personality willing to participate in Burna Boy's competition, though Burna Boy subsequently rejected him, characterising him as an inadequate competitor.
