A new mother has opened up about the heartbreaking fallout from a family disagreement during her omugwo, leaving her to cope with two young children largely on her own.

A woman has cried out for help after a disagreement between her husband and mother during an omugwo visit left her struggling to care for her newborn and two-year-old child.
The woman, who related her experience in a message to "Mummy Ngozi," stated that her mother initially refused to stay with her after the birth of her second kid due to an incident involving her husband.
She explained that her mother arrived for omugwo but got into a dispute with her husband, during which he allegedly smacked her.
According to the woman, her mother left after only two months, rather than the planned three months, and her husband did not offer any omugwo goods for her.
She claimed that because her mother had stood behind her husband during the argument, she had declined to come back.
The woman claimed that her husband's mother had also refused to attend, thus she was mostly responsible for taking care of her two-year-old and infant.
"This is my second baby and I need her here, but she refused to come simple because I supported my husband," she added.
The mother of two claimed that raising the kids alone had become too much, especially since her first child needs care while she tends to the baby.
She described a time when her kid would cry uncontrollably at nite, causing her husband to complain that the infant was bothering him.
She said, “I have been begging my mom to come and she is wickeding me. I don’t know how to handle all these things alone.”
Her account has sparked discussion about family conflicts, marital support and the challenges new mothers can face when traditional postpartum support breaks down.
