A man remains in hospital after a disturbing attack in Macclesfield town centre during the early hours of Tuesday.

A man was hospitalized following an alleged assault and sexual assault in Macclesfield town centre in the early morning hours.
The incident occurred around 1am on Tuesday on Churchill Way.
Police responded to reports of the attack and the victim was transported to hospital by ambulance, where he continues to receive treatment.
Cheshire Constabulary has launched an investigation and is seeking information from the public.
The force is particularly interested in hearing from anyone who witnessed the incident or observed suspicious activity in the area either before or after it occurred.
Police are also requesting dashcam footage from vehicles in the town centre between 10:40pm on Monday 10 August and 1:10am on Tuesday 11 August, particularly from the Churchill Way and Sunderland Street vicinity.
Detective Inspector Claire Miles indicated that the investigation remains active and appealed for potential witnesses to contact police.
She requested that drivers check their dashcam recordings for any relevant material captured during the specified timeframe.
