Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has created a new ministry as his administration expands the state government to 29 ministries.

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo increased the number of state ministries to 29 with establishment of the Ministry of Inter-Ethnic Relations.
The new ministry was created to promote inter-ethnic and inter-community harmony, strengthen peaceful coexistence, and harness the diversity of Edo citizens as an asset for state development and unity.
Governor Okpebholo approved deployment of newly sworn-in commissioners to strengthen governance, enhance efficiency and improve service delivery.
Iriabekhai Kayode Jeffery was deployed to the Ministry of Mining whilst Martin Anayochukwu Oli was assigned to the Ministry of Inter-Ethnic Relations.
Three commissioners were redeployed: Ohimai Ehijimetor, Commissioner for Communications, moved to the Ministry of Livestock Development; Prof. Omorodion Ikponmwosa, Commissioner for Livestock Development, redeployed to the Ministry of Oil and Gas; and Andrew Momodu, redeployed from the Ministry of Oil and Gas to the Ministry of Communications.
All deployments and redeployments took immediate effect, with affected commissioners instructed to ensure seamless handover and assumption of duties in their respective ministries.
