Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor of Lagos State, has promised to take tough measures against anyone who stops luxury cars and is reportedly involved in illegal activity along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.

During an interview on Nigeria Info FM, Hamzat made the statement after Jimi Disu, the host, brought up the actions of "these boys stopping luxury cars" on the road.

In order to "stop this nons£nse" on the Lekki-Epe axis, the interviewer asked Hamzat to use his position as deputy governor.

In response, Hamzat declared that the government will take action against individuals responsible and characterized the activities as illegal.

"That is illegal. We will not permit it as a result. Thus, many of them will be removed off the streets," Hamzat declared.

He also expressed concern over the existence of people in the Lekki-Epe axis who he termed as a threat to society.

"On behalf of those of us who travel the Lagos-Epe road, I would want to draw your attention to the fact that there are several instances of amusing individuals who pose a threat to society along that axis. The Disu said, "From Lekki all the."

The deputy governor of Lagos said that a number of people had already been taken into custody in relation to the activities, pointing out that the roadside surveillance cameras had aided in the identification of suspects. "Well, there have been a number of arrests.

There are numerous cameras on that route, and people have been spotted if you commit.

And I can show you people, some people are in the Magistrate Court today,” Hamzat added. Hamzat confirmed that some of the suspects were arrested recently.

“They were arrested last week or so. I think towards the end, no, over the weekend,” he said.
