A Nigerian woman has cautioned the younger generation against selecting marriage partners based exclusively on their current financial circumstances, recounting her 15-year journey with a husband who transitioned from motorcycle taxi driving to becoming the chief executive of a photography enterprise.

In a video shared through social media, she disclosed that her husband had minimal resources when they married and was unable to finance their wedding ceremony.

At the time, he was residing in temporary accommodation in Suleja.

She noted his financial limitations but chose to support him regardless, expressing faith that circumstances would improve.

Over the subsequent 15 years, their situation has transformed substantially.

The couple now owns multiple properties across Abuja and beyond.

She reflected that her husband initially lacked financial means, yet she maintained confidence in his potential.

"Don't marry a man because of what you're seeing," she advised younger women, emphasising that present financial status does not necessarily indicate future prospects.

Her account has sparked online discourse, with some users commending her perseverance in standing beside her husband during economically difficult periods, while others presented varying perspectives on the role of financial stability in selecting a life partner.
