Kano is set for intensified Hisbah patrols after the state government boosted the agency with new vehicles and motorcycles.

The Kano State Hisbah Board has announced plans to intensify enforcement operations across the state under an initiative designated "Operation Kano First."
A senior official of the board issued the warning following a donation by the state governor of 10 operational vehicles and 50 motorcycles intended to strengthen Hisbah's operational capacity.
The official stated that individuals engaged in conduct deemed immoral within Kano should be aware that the board has launched the operation and that those apprehended would be subject to legal consequences.
He indicated that Hisbah personnel had already conducted patrols on major routes throughout Kano on Thursday as part of the initiative and would continue surveillance activities in coming days.
The purpose of these operations, he explained, would be to encourage compliance with moral standards, discourage prohibited behaviour and facilitate reconciliation among residents.
The Hisbah Board, established by the state government, holds responsibility for enforcing Sharia-related laws, promoting moral conduct and resolving disputes.
The recent donation of vehicles and motorcycles is designed to enhance the board's mobility and visibility throughout local government areas, particularly regarding monitoring of public spaces and response to community complaints.
