NDLEA Makes Record Cocaine Seizure at Lagos Courier Facility

The NDLEA has uncovered what it describes as its biggest cocaine seizure from a courier facility, with a massive consignment intercepted in Lagos.

The National D₹ug Law Enforcement Agency intercepted 184.5 kilogrammes of c%caine at a courier facility in Lagos, which the agency characterised as its largest c%caine seizure from such an operation.

The NDLEA chairman announced at a press briefing in Lagos on Tuesday that two individuals Afolabi Kazeem Micheal, a socialite known as KC Luxury, and Lawal Kehinde, a logistics company employee were detained in connection with the consignment.

The c%caine was valued at $27.7 million, equivalent to approximately N39 million.

The arrests resulted from cooperation between the agency and the logistics firm's leadership.

KC Luxury was apprehended at Lagos airport whilst allegedly attempting to leave the country following the seizure.

The NDLEA chairman disclosed that Nigeria is increasingly serving as a transit location for contraband substances destined for the United Kingdom, European jurisdictions and Asia.

Investigations are continuing to determine the substance's origin and target destination.
