Doris Ogala, an actress, has stated her intention to run for governor of Abia State, citing a "divine mandate."

Ogala made the announcement on an episode of the Clarity Zone podcast, where she expressed confidence that she will become the state's next governor.

She said that her choice to run for governor was motivated by a supernatural call to rescue the people of Abia State.

She stated, "The call to come and save my people is a divine mandate." "Nothing will stop me from becoming the next governor of Abia State."

When asked why she was so convinced about becoming governor, Ogala responded she believed she was more qualified than other contenders.

"I am so sure, and I know it, because I'm better than all of them," she replied.

Ogala also criticized Governor Alex Otti's administration, alleging that the government had not done enough to improve the state's living standards.

She specifically disputed assertions about the availability of energy in Abia, claiming that inhabitants do not have access to 24-hour power, despite such claims.

"There is no 24-hour light in Abia," she explained, adding that the condition shown on social media did not reflect reality on the ground.

Ogala also disputed claims concerning the development of Ariaria International Market in Aba, insisting that the A-Line section of the market was constructed under the administration of former governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

“I dare the governor to challenge me. He didn’t build Ariaria. The only place built in Ariaria is A-Line, and it was built by Ikpeazu. John Okiyi was the commissioner then,” she said.

Doris Ogala, who claimed to be a member of the Ikpeazu administration, stated that she was speaking from personal knowledge of the project.

Her statements came during a discussion about Abia's infrastructure development, which included roads and other initiatives supposedly undertaken by the current administration.

She claimed, however, that the government's claims of supplying 24-hour electricity were false, emphasizing that her experience in the state did not corroborate such assertions.

Ogala's declaration indicates her intention to participate in the 2027 Abia State governorship race, albeit the party platform on which she intends to run was not disclosed in the interview.
