A 30-year-old man has been b£@t£n and st@bb£d to d£@th by a mob in Niger State after he was accused of being a thief.

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the incident.

The man, Sunday Pada, was attacked on August 10 in the Korokpan area of Minna after someone raised an alarm accusing him of theft.

Police received the alert and sent officers to the scene, but the attackers had already fled.

Pada was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced d£@d.

During the investigation, authorities learned that Pada was returning from a friend's house when the mob intercepted him.

Someone shouted that he was a thief, and the group then b£@t him severely before st@bb!ng him to d£@th.

The four suspects arrested are Ibrahim Abubakar, Aliyu Onah, Godwin Musa and Aminu Bawa, all from the Korokpan area.

They are currently being investigated by police for criminal conspiracy and culpable homicide.

In other operations across Niger State, police arrested 15 more suspects for various crimes.

Officers recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition along a suspected bandits' route in Rijau Local Government Area on August 15.

The rifle contained 19 live rounds, along with additional ammunition that is now undergoing forensic analysis.

Three suspects were arrested for allegedly stealing goats and other animals.

Police intercepted them in a tinted vehicle and recovered animal skins that were suspected to have been stolen.

Four other suspects were arrested in a fraud scheme involving a fake online investment scam.

Police said the suspects lured a victim from Kano with a job offer, then demanded 200,000 naira for an investment.

When the victim refused a second payment of the same amount, he was allegedly sl@pp£d.

The man managed to escape during prayer time and flagged down police officers.

Two other suspects were caught stealing goods from vehicles along a major road.

In one case, a truck driver alerted police after spotting thieves trying to steal spaghetti cartons from his parked truck.

In another incident, officers recovered stolen beverages from a house in Lafiagi village.

Six more suspects were arrested over shop-breaking and theft of truck spare parts worth 600,000 naira.

One suspect confessed, leading to the arrest of five others.

All stolen items were recovered.

Police also recovered two large transformers that had been stolen from a Federal Housing Estate.

A driver was intercepted transporting them and revealed he had been hired to deliver them to Abuja.

Investigation led to the arrest of the man who hired him and the security guard who sold the transformers for 750,000 naira each.

Another security guard was also arrested.

All suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue.

They will be charged to court and prosecuted once investigations are complete.
