A former Ekiti State governor has said that the African Democratic Congress presidential candidate is too old to run for office.

Ayodele Fayose made the comments during a television interview, comparing the candidate to former US President Joe Biden.

He argued that age has caught up with the politician and that it is time for younger people to take leadership roles.

Fayose also criticised the candidate's running mate, saying he does not have enough political strength in his home region.

He noted that the candidate's party is not well organised on the ground and many supporters are not actively campaigning.

Fayose went further to say that the current president and another major opposition figure are also at the stage where this would likely be their last chance to contest an election.

He suggested that age should be a factor when voters consider their choices at the polls.
