Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has denied claims by the African Democratic Congress that the party helped bring about his re-election.
He said there was no agreement or partnership between him and the ADC before, during, or after the recent governorship election.
Adeleke's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, issued a statement on Tuesday clarifying the governor's position.
Adeleke stressed that his victory was due to God and the support of the people of Osun State.
He said the ADC was never part of the coalition that campaigned for him in last Saturday's election.
The governor thanked the political partners who genuinely worked to make his re-election a success.
However, he wanted to set the record straight that the ADC was not among them.
Now that the election is over, Adeleke said he is the governor for all Osun people, regardless of their political party, religion or ethnicity.
