Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has announced his full backing for President Tinubu and the Rainbow Coalition, a political group led by the FCT Minister, for the 2027 elections.

He also endorsed the coalition's governorship candidate and called on his supporters to vote for everyone the coalition puts forward.

He made the announcement Tuesday during a groundbreaking ceremony for a pharmaceutical factory project in the state.

Fubara said Rivers State's long political crisis was finally over and urged his followers to make peace and rally behind the coalition.

He's already part of the family, he said, and the time for fighting is done.

Peace is what will push the state forward now.

He made clear he won't take any action that could restart conflict in the state.

His declaration comes months after he stepped back from running for a second term as governor in 2027.

In May, the FCT Minister said the governor's withdrawal was part of a peace deal to end the turmoil in Rivers State.

The arrangement included dropping threats to impeach Fubara as long as he didn't seek re-election.

The minister had criticized Fubara for getting nomination forms earlier, saying it went against the peace agreement before the governor eventually withdrew.

Fubara also spoke about the pharmaceutical factory project.

The first phase should be finished in three months.

He described it as important work that would bring manufacturing jobs, make Rivers State a medical production hub and draw investors.

His administration will back the project fully and wants the host community to cooperate with the company.

He also mentioned the state government is involved in lawsuits against several companies over claims worth more than 200 billion naira.

His administration wants to avoid contract disputes that discourage investment and slow economic growth.
