Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has taken his victory celebration to Abuja, where he met two of the country’s biggest political figures.

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State visited the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, in Abuja on Thursday.
The visit was part of his rounds thanking top officials after winning the state's governorship election on August 15.
Before meeting Wike, Adeleke had already been to see President Bola Tinubu at his official residence.
He brought along his certificate of return the official document proving he won the election and used the opportunity to thank the president.
Adeleke arrived dressed in traditional clothing and was accompanied by the National Security Adviser and several of his state officials, including his campaign manager and chief of staff.
When he spoke to journalists after meeting with Tinubu, Adeleke explained why he came.
He said he wanted to thank the president for allowing the election to happen freely without any interference.
He praised Tinubu, calling him the father of the nation, and credited the president's commitment to democracy for making the election free and fair.
Adeleke stressed that this kind of respect for democratic values is important for keeping democracy alive in Nigeria.
A photograph from his meeting with Wike was posted online by the minister's spokesperson, showing the two men shaking hands while holding the governor's certificate of return.
In the election, Adeleke ran on the Accord Party ticket and won with 511,067 votes.
His main opponent, the All Progressives Congress candidate, received 444,815 votes.
Adeleke took 19 out of the state's 30 local government areas.
