Dolly Parton, one of the world's most celebrated country music singers and entertainers, has d+ed at age 80.

She was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville early Friday while dealing with kidney and autoimmune issues.

She d+ed at the hospital on Tuesday, though the exact cause has not been revealed.

Her head of security announced her d+ath online, sparking tributes from around the world for the legendary performer whose career spanned over six decades.

Parton had spoken recently about health challenges she had been facing.

In an interview last week, she said she had been managing health issues while caring for her late husband Carl Dean, who d+ed in March 2025.

She acknowledged having gone through difficult health periods before but had continued working while recovering.

Recently, Parton scaled back some public work, cancelling a planned Las Vegas residency and a Dollywood appearance earlier this month after doctors advised her not to travel due to dehydration and occasional dizziness.

Parton leaves behind an enormous musical legacy with timeless songs including Jolene, 9 to 5 and I Will Always Love You.

Beyond music, she built a thriving entertainment and business empire and became one of the most beloved figures in popular culture.
