A popular social media content creator promised to teach a young woman the secrets to online monetization, but the mentorship took a dark and tragic turn inside an Asaba hotel room.

The wife of Delta State content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, known as Odogwu of Asaba, has defended her husband against accusations that he r@ped a 20-year-old woman.
Speaking in a video posted on Wednesday, she said he only had an affair with the woman, who later died.
Police arrested Ogbonna, 40, after the alleged incident.
They said he invited the woman, Favour Agbro, to Asaba claiming he would teach her how to make money from social media.
He then allegedly took her to a hotel where he r@ped and physically @tt@cked her.
The woman rejected the r@pe allegation in the video.
She said her husband did not k!ll anyone and that he did not commit r@pe.
She insisted he simply had a relationship with the woman and stressed that even before he became famous, he never r@ped anybody.
She said she had been following the case carefully and decided to speak after learning more details.
She emphasized that no matter what happened, she stands with her husband completely and will not abandon him.
She called on people to remember that social media is not a courtroom and that the legal process should decide what actually happened.
The woman acknowledged that someone has died, which is why they are handling the matter carefully. But she said her husband did not k!ll anybody.
She noted she has been married to Ogbonna for eight years and they have four children together.
Police say Favour travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after Ogbonna offered to train her on how to monetize her online pages.
She later returned home distressed and told her parents what happened.
She recorded a video about her experience, then ingested a toxic substance and died while receiving medical care.
Police said they arrested Ogbonna following a petition from the woman's family. Investigations are ongoing and he will be charged to court.
Ogbonna has not been convicted and the r@pe allegation remains under investigation.
